Children’s Ministry
Nursery
Cornerstone Nursery serves 0 to 3 year-old children during the church service on Sunday mornings.
Serving as a Nursery volunteer ensures that families with little ones have a safe, welcoming, and caring place for their little ones to stay while the family is in the Worship Service. This allows Moms and Dads to focus on the praise and teaching in the church service without distraction to the needs of their baby or toddler.
What Serving Looks Like
Volunteering to serve in the Nursery means that you are willing to spend a Sunday, a few times a year, caring for infants and toddlers while their parents are in the church service. The total number of volunteers will determine how frequently you will be called upon, but it typically requires one Sunday every 2 to 3 months. Each week, there are two adult volunteers and at least one youth volunteer in the nursery.
-
You will get an email notice of the date you are selected to volunteer
You need to reply to that email by indicating whether you accept or decline that date of service
If you accept you need to arrive at the Nursery 15 minutes before service starts to greet the parents and children and remain there until the last kiddo is picked up by their parents.
Children’s Ministry
Kids ages 3 to 5 can be dropped off at class before service. School-age kids start in the main service and will be dismissed before the sermon.
What This Ministry Is
The heart of Children’s Ministry at Cornerstone is to bring children closer to Jesus by:
Helping them understand how deeply God loves them through intentional conversations and biblical teaching.
Creating opportunities for them to encounter God through engaging Bible stories, crafts, games, and activities.
Discipling the next generation with the truth of God’s infallible Word.
Equipping and encouraging one another as we faithfully teach God’s Word to children.
We offer children’s programming during Sunday services, including Bible lessons and small-group discussion time, as well as special celebrations during the Easter and Christmas seasons.
Why It Matters
Children are never too young to know and experience God’s love. Our ministry is committed to helping children develop a growing relationship with Jesus and a strong foundation of faith.
By studying God’s Word together, children learn their identity in Christ, understand their value and purpose, and build a faith that can stand firm throughout their lives.
What Serving Looks Like
Serving in Children’s Ministry is both meaningful and fun! Volunteers may:
Teach Bible lessons
Lead small-group discussions
Help children memorize Scripture
Organize and lead games and activities
Prepare and facilitate crafts
Build relationships through play, conversation, and encouragement—even rolling on the floor and building with blocks!
Together, we have the privilege of investing in the next generation and helping children grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus.
How to Get Involved
We would be grateful if you feel this is a ministry you can commit to during the next year. You can volunteer by indicating your interest on the Membership Covenant form, or by emailing us.
* For the safety of the kids we get to love and care for, we require that every adult who serves has a background check and completes the ministry safe training. This is to ensure we have safe caring adults in the position to care for our youngest members.
