Pastors & Elders
The men who serve as pastors and elders (Elder Job Description here) at Cornerstone are first and foremost shepherds (1 Peter 1:1-3). They have the primary responsibility of caring for members as Christ would. Cornerstone's elders are appointed by other elders (with no specified term of office) to be spiritual overseers and protectors of the flock (Acts 20:28-31). They oversee all the ministries of the church but they do not make financial decisions. Those are made by the Admin Team and our ministry team leaders — lay people (singles or couples) — who meet once a quarter.
Dan Stump (Lead Pastor/Elder) has spent his whole life in the Pacific Northwest, growing up in solid Christian home. He followed Christ from a young age and his faith was solidified as a teen. He married Ang, his high school sweetheart, in 2001 and they have two sons. Jake, who is married to Richie, and Ty. He spent 21 years as a Junior High teacher, first at Ron Russell Middle School and then at Good Shepherd School. After volunteering in local churches in various capacities, including serving as an elder and helping with preaching, Cornerstone called him to serve as their Lead Pastor. He desires to see Cornerstone lock arms with other local churches to fulfill the Great Commission of making disciples of Jesus.
Caleb Page (Associate/Youth Pastor) was raised in Colorado and he knew of Jesus growing up, but gave his life to Christ at age 14 during a CIY youth conference—returning two years later to sense a clear call into ministry. Caleb earned his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from Ozark Christian College (2008–2013), where he also met his wife, Michaela. They married in 2012 and welcomed their son, Ronun, in 2016. Before joining Cornerstone in 2021, Caleb served in multiple churches as a Youth and Associate Pastor. He loves fishing, bow hunting, disc golf, and being outdoors with his family. He is excited to serve Cornerstone passionately by seeing people encounter the saving power of the Gospel and grow deeply in Scripture and community, through his leading of the youth ministry and serving the church.
Blake Arnold (Elder) grew up as a missionary kid in Alaska until second grade, when his family transitioned to Oregon, where his dad pastored two different churches. He accepted Christ at a young age and sensed a calling to serve others. Blake earned a master’s degree in counseling from Western Seminary (2008–2013), where he also met his wife, Lindsay. They were married in 2013. Blake has served in various clinical counseling roles and is currently the clinical director at Lacamas Counseling across the river in Washington. Since 2018, he has also taught as adjunct faculty in Western Seminary’s counseling program. In his free time, Blake enjoys movies with Lindsay and outdoor adventures—crabbing, fishing, and camping. Motivated to help people grow in Christ, he has served as an Elder at Cornerstone since 2021.
Dan Anderson (Elder) and his wife, Stephanie first came to Cornerstone as newlyweds in 2008, and they and their two daughters have called it home ever since. Dan has an undergraduate degree from Corban (where he and Stephanie met), and a graduate degree from George Fox. He has always had a passion for learning and discipleship, and has worked with teens both as a teacher and as a youth leader here at Cornerstone for years. Currently, he endeavors to represent Christ to the city of Portland in his role at Trimet. Having “grown up” at Cornerstone, Dan considers it a tremendous and humbling honor to serve as one of its elders, and is firmly committed to its people and its mission to see Jesus Christ’s gospel spread and his disciples grown and matured.
Jay Amadio (Elder) and his wife, Christy have been part of the Cornerstone Church family since October 2004. Married for more than 26 years, Jay has five children, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, and one grandson. Jay benefited from schooling at several community colleges, Capernwray Bible School, and Multnomah Bible College & Seminary. He served with Bainbridge Bible College and Youth for Christ, worked as the Program Director at Island Lake Camp, and was previously an Associate Pastor here at Cornerstone. Today, he continues to serve Christ as a Captain for Portland Fire & Rescue at Station 13. Jay also works remotely part-time as the Development Director for Montana Wilderness School of the Bible. Jay considers it a privilege to serve Cornerstone as an Elder and is committed to helping shepherd the church with humility, wisdom, and a deep love for Jesus and His people.
